Cookie Care
Cookies kept in their individually wrapped bags are good for up to 30 days from receipt.
For optimal freshness and flavor, freeze or eat your cookies within 30 days of receiving them. Do not refrigerate your cookies as this causes them to go stale more quickly.
When ready to eat, enjoy them at room temperature but for a warm and gooey cookie microwave it for 10-15 seconds or bake it in a toaster or oven on medium or at 350F for 3-5 minutes.
Here’s how Maison Methodologie protein cookies have a long shelf life of 30 days at room temperature – without using any preservatives thanks to our cookie design.
Most baked goods go stale quickly when moisture is pushed out of the starch matrix, like what happens when we leave a bowl of oatmeal out. Our cookies don’t go stale quickly because they’re lower in starch than other cookies since they’re high-protein instead, and on top of that they also have very little moisture. The softness from the cookie isn’t from moisture but from the browned butter and protein. Plus, each cookie is individually packaged in an airtight bag.
So if you freeze or eat your cookies within the first 30 days they’ll taste amazing. Zero weird preservatives needed.
Shipping
WARM WEATHER SHIPPING NOTICE
As we are now in the summer season, please note that our cookies will not be shipped with ice packs or insulation. While we take great care in packing your order, warmer temperatures—especially in certain regions of the U.S.—may cause cookies to arrive warm or melted. We strongly recommend tracking your order closely and bringing it indoors as soon as it arrives. If your cookies arrive warm or melted, don’t worry—they are perfectly safe to enjoy and eat. However, we’re unable to offer refunds or replacements for cookies affected by heat during transit. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to deliver indulgence, nationwide, all summer long.
Cookies are freshly baked by hand then shipped nationwide throughout the 50 U.S. states every Monday and Wednesday.
Place your order by 5 PM Saturday for your cookies to ship out on Monday, or by 5 PM Tuesday for your cookies to ship out on Wednesday. You'll receive your cookies 2-7 business days after they ship out, unless it's close to Christmas time when shipping carriers experience delays due to holiday volume.
Cookies ship at room temperature without ice and should be brought inside as soon as possible if it's hot outside, so that the chocolate chips don't melt too much.
During cooler months, it's okay for cookies to stay outside at room temperature because these cookies shouldn't be refrigerated (refrigeration causes these cookies to go stale more quickly). This means that the recipient does not need to be home to receive the cookies immediately–just within the 30 days of receiving them.
Gluten Sensitivity and Celiac
If you are celiac, these cookies should not be eaten as they do contain gluten.
If, however, you are gluten-sensitive, you may be able to eat these cookies with zero issues because they are not only low gluten due to our recipe construction to minimize gluten but the type of gluten that does form from Einkorn is a different kind of gluten. Wheat proteins are divided into two types, glutenins and gliadins. Einkorn lacks certain high molecular weight glutenins, lacks entire groups of y-gliadins that are present in all other forms of wheat, and has a much higher ratio of gliadins to glutenins than other forms of wheat. This is why Einkorn's gluten does not behave the same way as gluten does from other forms of wheat and why many people with gluten sensitivities are able to tolerate ancient Einkorn.
